Apprenticeship Funding
An apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that combines practical experience with classroom-based learning, allowing students to earn a wage while gaining a recognised qualification. Apprenticeships are available across a wide range of industries and levels, from entry-level roles to higher and degree apprenticeships.
For students aged 16–18, apprenticeships are fully funded by the government, meaning both training and assessment costs are covered for the duration of the programme. Employers also receive financial support and may be eligible for incentive payments when hiring young apprentices.
In addition, apprentices are entitled to at least the National Minimum Wage for their age group, and may receive further support with travel, equipment, or additional learning needs. These funding options make apprenticeships an accessible and valuable pathway into skilled employment.
